Millicent leading her group, Therapists for Protester Wellness

In light of the 2020 Black Lives Matter movement, Millicent founded a group called Therapists for Protester Wellness (T4PW). T4PW is a group of mental health professionals, both Black and allies, who volunteer to help protesters in the movement. The group comprises of over 100 mental health professionals in all disciplines ready to give spaces of healing for people affected by being on the frontline. T4PW has been most helpful with de-escalating the tension at protests, identifying trauma and race battle fatigue, and connecting people to ongoing therapy. The primary goals of the group are to increase accessibility to mental health resources, amplify the clinical practices of Black counselors, and support all that may find difficulty coping in our current racial climate. T4PW is accessible on the protesting ground, phone, text, email, or Telehealth!
