Who we work with:
Dr. Jen Kowalsky (PhD, MPH) is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Ohio State University, Newark. Dr. Kowalsky studies health behavior and health promotion, with research focusing on blood donation and vaccination. Ensuring availability of safe blood is a global health concern given the blood supply's dependence on voluntary donors. Dr. Kowalsky studies strategies to support blood donor recruitment and retention. In addition to blood donation, she examines vaccination related behavior. While vaccines provide a level of protection against numerous illnesses, not everyone who is eligible gets vaccinated. Dr. Kowalsky's research seeks to understand vaccine-related choices, evaluate message framing strategies, and improve the vaccination experience.
The lab's interdisciplinary focus fosters a collaborative environment with researchers at the University of Louisville and other institutions.
